from vine to wine tasting No.1
Vintage: 2020
Producer: Tenuta i Gelsi
Region: Basilicata, Italy
Grapes: Aglianico
A pure expression of the native grape Aglianico made in a lush, juicy style. Plum, blackberry, cherry and blueberry flavors surround a core of violet-scented raspberry. It sounds like a lot, but all of these flavors are wrapped up in a silky-yet-robust everyday red.
Smoked bbq, duck breast, meat lovers pizza
A rugged, rocky mountin specked region in Southern Italy. Grapes are traditionally grown in volcanic soil.

Green guava and sour apple candy aromas open this tart, light and zippy refresher with tons of white peach flavors and a creamy yet crisp finish. A blend of local grapes Muscadelle, Loin de l’œil and Sauvignon. The wine is a perfect organic refresher.
Seafood boil, fresh strawberries, grilled fish
Gaillac has been making wine for well over 2,000 years. Originally one of the growing regions of the Gaul along with Hermitage and Cote-Rotie, the grapes here were imported by The Phoenicians during the 4th century BC.

Perfumed and elegant with a heavy hand of floral aromas. The palate is quince, peach, lemon curd and a touch of sweet chiffon. The finish is fruity and waxy with torched pineapple and persimmon pastry.
Creamed spinach, broccoli cheddar soup, radishes with butter
The Rhone Valley, a hub of culture since ancient times, is just as popular today. Home to Chateauneuf-du-Pape or "The Pope's New House" this historical region specializes in Grenache and Syrah for red wines and Clairette, Grenache Blanc and Viognier for their weighty whites.

Pale pink in color and flavor with cara cara orange, pink grapefruit and raspberry sorbet notes abound. The palate is crisp yet fruity with more cutrus and berries and just a touch of ripe watermelon
Veggie pizza, brie en croute, hummus and pita
Half of the grapes are handpicked and the other half mechanically from 50 year old vines. All grapes are then hand sorted with double selection before being pressed.

Vintage: 2020
Producer: Tenuta i Gelsi
Region: Basilicata, Italy
Grapes: Aglianico
A white wine grown in the fertile volcanic soils of Mount Vulture in Italy. (Don’t worry, it’s an extinct volcano!) Intense and floral on the nose with a waxy perfume that leads into fruit flavors of lychee, pear, yellow citrus and hawthorn.
veggie risotto, gyoza, pad thai
Monte Vultre and it's volcanic formations most recently erupted in 1980 destroying many towns in the region.
from vine to wine tasting no.6
Vintage: 2017
Producer: Domaine d'Escausses
Region: Gaillac, France
Grapes: Braucol, Duras, Syrah
Winemaker Jean Marc likes to describe this wine in one simple word: rouge. Tough to argue when the wine is such a deep, deep garnet color boasting intense scents of red fruits and whiffs of vanilla tinged berries. There's a bramble twig undergrowth note in there along with some spicy hints from the wood aging. The mouthfeel is full and structured with melty tannins and plenty of sapid "rouge" flavors.
Red meats, Chorizo, runny cheeses, gratin of potato or root vegetable
Jean Marc and his Daughter Aurélie produce all of the wines. Jean Marc focuses on the reds and whites while Aurélie's passion lies in her rosé project, Château L'Enclos des Roses.
