Situated in what they describe as "a place of extraordinary beauty," the Contrada Sulleria vineyard in Rodi Milici overlooks a picture-perfect view of the Mediterranean Sea. Grape: MONTONEGA
Often blended with two other spanish wines to make Cava (the popular sparkling wine of Spain), Montonega grapes are known for their small berries and thick skins which combine to add a good mouthfeel, supported by excellent acidity. The aromatic profile of Montonega wines tends to be fresh and citrusy, albeit with aromatic, herbal and mineral, or saline, notes.
Tasting Notes
Beautiful pink color with garnet reflections, brilliant and crystalline. Fine and delicate nose reminiscent of red fruits. The aromatic mouth, full, opens out with finesse and balance. Red raspberry, strawberry and melon dominate the fruit flavors.
Pairing Recommendation
Oysters, sashimi sushi, smoked foods
Interesting Fact
Montonega is a pink skinned grape similar to Parellada - the latter of which is known for it's role as one of the main grapes in Cava sparkling wines.
La Grondaia

Vintage: 2018
Region: Abruzzo, Italy
Grape: MONTEPULCIANO
Often mistaken for its countryman Sangiovese, Montepulciano is a unique grape from the Abruzzo region in Italy. Montepulciano ripens late and has a tendency to favor producing large yields. The grapes can be plump with a low skin to juice ratio. However, the skin has a fair amount of pigmented tannins and color producing phenols that with maceration can produce either a deep ruby colored wine or a pink Cerasuolo wine.
Tasting Notes
Deep pink in color and super floral on the nose with red flowers and peach blossoms. The palate is dripping with pomegranate and currant flavors, deep yet tart, and finishes with that classic almond-meets-cherry floral note that only Italian wines can achieve.
Pairing Recommendations
Baked mac n cheese, black bean burgers, beef tacos
Interesting Fact
In order to allow the flavors of the wine to develop before an impatient consumer opens the bottle, all of the wines in this cuvee are aged for at least 36 months before being bottled. Imagine waiting 3 years to open a bottle!
Tolo do Xisto
Details

Tasting Notes
Floral notes of rose petal, red berry fruits and red plum with ripe grape, orange peel, pink peppercorn and fresh herbs. The palate is medium bodied with loads of tart red fruits like raspberry and cherry. A little touch of coffee and liquorice in the finish.

Grape: CABERNET FRANC
Cabernet Franc is one of the major black grape varieties worldwide. It is principally grown for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the Bordeaux style. Cab Franc has a thinner skin than Cabernet Sauvignon, thus Cab Franc wines tend to be lower in tannin and lighter in color.
Tasting Notes
A trendy, fruity cabernet franc meant to be served with a chill! Bright tart red fruits like berry flavored candy shine with little sparkles of herbs and spice.
Pairing Recommendations
Charcuterie, crunchy salads, Rotisserie chicken
Interesting Fact
A small village in the Loire Valley, Saint-Nicolas de Bourgeuil AOC sits on the right bank of the Loire River and makes only red and rosé wines with the latter making up no more than 2% of production. Cabernet Franc is the grape grown here and the wines from this village are noted for being fruity and easy to pair with just about anything.
